Description
Paul Bolton, a rarely sober literature professor, was trying to get tenure at the University of Eastern Idaho. Like any respectable postmodernist, he openly denounced any academic claims to Truth, and he criticized even more vocally the local Mormons for their irrational faith. He kept quiet however about his fanatical devotion to Northstar , a 1970s TV series with a cult science-fiction following that’s still keeping the show in perpetual rerun. But the Bolton and Dana Cooper, his most accomplished but least favorite graduate student find themselves abducted by aliens (or so it seems). They awaken with memory gaps in a mountainous wilderness far (far!) away from their university, where they are forced to work together and survive by their wits and by the meager contents of Dana’s purse. Paul must face head on the problem of Truth and how it is discovered, by painful trial and error, clue by bizarre clue, to reconstruct what has happened them. And then, to save Dana’s life and his own soul, Paul will have to find enough faith in himself to confront a dangerous freehold prospector and an alien invasion fleet, outhinking and outmaneuvering even someone like the legendary Commander Anson North and the crew of the Union Altership Endeavour . —- ISBN: 9798872485704
