This is the first of Annabelle Floyd’s history books series written by Bucky Harrington (a fictional character), referenced in The Royal Tempest (Denville Chronicles). It is suggested to read The Royal Tempest first in order to understand the setting of the stories. Synopsis: The crown prince of the Kingdom of Beallonna, Ademont Gregory, is banished from the palace by The Great Council for an act he didn’t commit, right after the death of his father. However, following the decimation of a neighbouring kingdom, Melagrid, he sees the future that may very well lie ahead of the Kingdom of Beallonna, and makes it his purpose to save it at all cost. Madeline Agnes’ world comes crashing down when A Shadow appears above her Kingdom, destroying everything and everyone she loved and held dear. She becomes the sole survivor of the massacre only by the interference of a supernatural entity. When Ademont meets Madeline, it becomes clear that his purpose is a whole lot bigger than just saving the Kingdom of Beallonna.
