Description
The Play’s the Thing, is a hilarious three act comedy. It originally opened in New York City on Nov, 3, 1926 and ran for 313 performances. It has entered into the public domain. The play follows two play writes who with their composer drop in at an Italian castle to surprise their unsuspecting Prima Dona. Who is also the composer’s fiance. They take the room directly adjacent to their leading lady. To their shock they overhear the scoundral, Almady, an older married actor, trying to make love to the heroine. The composer is distraught, and threatens to rip up the score for their upcoming play. All their dreams are about to be dashed. If only one of the play write’s could find a way to write themselves out of this mess. This adaptation by Nathaniel Gee, roughly follows the original. There are minor changes to update language, and to adjust cast make up. The original play called for a cast of 8 male, 1 female. This adaptation calls for 4 male, 3 female. — ISBN13: 9798332318597
