What is wrong with Isaiah? This book uses Isaiah to help the child reader explore the problem of color blindness. Some people are born colorblind; others develop color blindness through illnesses. Color blindness makes it difficult for such people to differentiate shades of colors. The primary symptom that colorblind people experience is color confusion, for example as when someone mistakenly identifies something as one color when it is actually another color. Color blindness affects more males than females. There are three types of color blindness. The most common type of color blindness is “red-green color blindness”. Isaiah in this story has problems telling red and green apart. He is frustrated when he makes mistakes and his classmates do not understand why he cannot do things right.
