Two Short Stories: Vincent and Smoke

First appearing in an anthology published by Caprock Writers and Illustrators Alliance, Smoke is based on a childhood memory of a camping trip with my family. It’s an homage to my father and his intrepid jaunts into the back country. Vincent earned a place in another anthology for the Lubbock Literacy Book Festival and I donated it to help raise funds for the program. My daughter wintered in Florida during Covid and she was the inspiration for the story about Zack Wallenda. I plan to write Zack’s memoir soon.
