Description
Sheet music for Beethoven’s Fur Elise, for the piano. Also known as the Bagatelle In A Minor Woo 59. —– Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist who lived from 1770 to 1827. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of classical music, and his works continue to be celebrated and performed around the world. Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany, into a family of musicians. His grandfather was a professional singer and music director, and his father was a court musician. Beethoven showed early talent as a pianist and composer. In 1780 or 1781 he began taking lessons with Christian Gottlob Neefe, the Court Organist in Bonn. At the age of 17, Beethoven made his first trip to Vienna where he likely met Mozart, and eventually moved to Vienna in 1792 where he studied with Joseph Haydn and other prominent musicians. He quickly gained a reputation as a brilliant pianist and composer, and his early works showed the influence of Haydn and Mozart, as well as the music of his own time. In his late twenties, Beethoven began to experience hearing loss, which would eventually lead to near complete deafness over the coming decades. Despite this, he continued to compose and perform, relying on the vibrations he could feel through the piano to guide his work. Some of his greatest works were written heroically through his hearing loss, including his Ninth Symphony and his late string quartets. Beethoven’s music is known for its emotional intensity and innovative use of form and structure. He is credited with bridging the gap between the classical and romantic periods in music, and his influence can be heard in the works of countless composers who followed him. In addition to his music, Beethoven was known for his strong personality and fierce independence. He was deeply committed to his art and often clashed with other musicians who he felt didn’t appreciate his work. Despite his difficult personality and the challenges he faced in his personal life, Beethoven left behind a legacy of music that continues to inspire and move listeners today. —- ISBN: 9798388804792 | ISBN10: B0C12B8YKR | ISBN-13: 979-8388804792
