Dolores is serenaded at her home, by a gentleman who arrives on horseback to proclaim his love. Dolores marries in a traditional church ceremony and the young couple decides to honeymoon in Austin, Texas at the Driskill Hotel, which is haunted by Col. Jesse Driskill and a young girl who fell down the grand staircase in a tragic accident. Dolores unwittingly converses with these ghosts, believing them to be alive. Dolores has two children, but eventually tragedy strikes. An angel allows Dolores to pray for and be alongside her family, through the use of an antique hand mirror. Dolores offers encouragement, advice, and prayers via the mirror, handed down to each generation of girls to communicate with their departed matriarch figures, until the Second Coming of Christ when the family enters the marriage supper of the lamb. Dolores is granted her own slice of heaven, an hacienda, a lush garden with a variety of animals, including her beloved dog, and gazebo.
