Description
In the jungles of Burma a group of British soldiers are trying to get to Mandalay despite every kind of obstacle placed in their path by both the terrain and the enemy. Sergeant Denis Rostherne thinks of his fiance Elsa and getting home to her, but everything at home isn’t as he left it. As the story moves from Burma to London every human emotion comes into play as Denis tries to rebuild his life. “From the jungles of Burma to wartime London this is a compelling story of blindness caused by a shell blast and the subsequent discovery of love and betrayal leading to devastating consequences…” ——————————————————————————————————————– About the Author Jack Pilling was born in Bury, Lancashire in January 1918. His father, also called Jack, was from Bury and his mother, Mary Ellen, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA of Irish American stock.
